Political Science majors are a diverse bunch, and their on-campus involvement reflects this diversity.  Below is a selection of common student organizations that political science majors at OSU join, but it is definitely not an exhaustive list! Click on the name of each organization to find out more about them.

Honor Societies

Pi Sigma Alpha

The National Political Science Honor Society, Pi Sigma Alpha is an "upper division, specialized" honor society for undergraduate and graduate students of political science in the United States.  For more information on the OSU branch, click here.

Phi Alpha Delta

An international, professional fraternity that advances the highest degree of service, integrity, and compassion within the legal profession, Phi Alpha Delta is a popular group for pre-Law students. The OSU chapter provides professional development, visits with law school admissions officers, and much more. 

International Studies Honors Societies and Student Organizations

Students studying global politics may be interested in one of the student groups affilitated with OSU's  School of Global Studies and Partnerships. Organizations include (but are not limited to!) Phi Beta Delta, an international honor society promotinginternational understanding and scholarly exchange, and Sigma Iota Rho, which emphasizes scholarship and research in international studies.

Governance

Student Government Association (SGA)

"The mission of Oklahoma State’s SGA is to unite our campus through community, academics, and leadership and to increase communication among the student body and administration. By fostering a relationship between OSU faculty and the students, SGA is able to hear the wants and needs of the students and actively implement changes on our campus." Many of SGA's positions are elected by the study body, but students can also join by applying to one of their currently open positions.

The College of Arts & Sciences Student Council

The Arts & Sciences Student Council serves as the voice of the undergraduate students in the College of Arts & Sciences. As the liaison between the students and the faculty, the Council’s primary goal is to foster an atmosphere of learning that places students first. The Council also stresses service to the University and to the surrounding community. 

Students who wish to join the A&S Student Council will need to complete an application with the College of Arts & Sciences.

Oklahoma Intercollegiate Legislature (O.I.L.)

O.I.L. is a student-led state mock government, non- profit organization. O.I.L. consists of mock legislature, mock trial and journalism.   

College Republicans

OSU’s branch of the Grand Old Party, College Republicans is an outlet for students to get more politically involved and interact with local, state, and federal officials.

Young Democrats 

The Young Democrats of Oklahoma State University seeks to engage students, faculty, and administration of the University in open conversation discussing the betterment of the Stillwater, Oklahoma State University communities, and the United States as whole through progressive action. 

Interests & Advocacy

The African American Student Association (Afro-Am)

The goal of Afro-Am is to host events and programs that promote the growth and interests of the African American community at Oklahoma State University.  

The Muslim Students Association (MSA)

The Stillwater Campus Chapter of Muslim Students Association assists Muslim students at Oklahoma State University carry out Islamic-related activities to pursue Islam as a holistic way of life by conducting religious, literary, and other Islamic educational events, as well as helping to present Islam to people of other faiths.
