Scholaships Open to students at all levels:
The Guy R. Donnell Scholarship provides support for a full time student majoring in Political Science. Selection criteria:
- Preference to an undergraduate student.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Academic record demonstrating excellence in scholarship first and leadership second.
The Dianne and Stanley Shelden Scholarship funds a full time OSU student majoring in Political Science. It is awarded periodically, and is open to undergraduates of all levels. Selection criteria:
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Academic record demonstrating scholarship first and leadership/service second.
Preference given to rising sophomores or juniors:
The Raymond & Afaaf Habiby Scholarship funds a full time OSU student majoring in Political Science who has demonstrated interest in the following areas (listed in order of preference): politics of the Middle East, politics of Europe or Africa, or International Relations. Such interest will be determined by coursework in political science or other related areas. Selection criteria:
- Preference to sophomores or juniors
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Excellence in scholarship first and leadership/service second.
The Paul Matthews Scholarship funds a full time OSU student majoring in Political Science. Selection criteria:
- Preference given to sophomore and juniors.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Academic record demonstrating scholarship first and leadership/service second.
Preference given to rising juniors or seniors:
The A.R. Larason President’s Distinguished Scholarship provides funds in each of the junior and senior year of the recipient. It is a University Award but is applied for through the Department of Political Science which forwards a recommendation to the OSU Foundation. Selection criteria:
- Full time OSU junior majoring in Political Science.
- Preference is given to juniors although seniors may apply.
- Academic record demonstrating excellence in scholarship first and leadership/service second.
- Minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA.
The Harold V. Sare Scholarship supports a full time OSU student majoring in Political Science. Selection criteria:
- Preference given to juniors or seniors.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Academic record demonstrating scholarship first and leadership/service second.
The Franz Von Sauer Scholarship offers funds to a full time OSU student majoring in Political Science. Selection criteria:
- Preference to a junior or senior.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Academic record demonstrating excellence in scholarship first and leadership/service second.
The Paul Bohannon Scholarship funds a full time junior or senior majoring in Political Science. Selection criteria:
- Demonstrated financial need verified with the Financial Aid Office.
- Have no other awards or funding from the Department of Political Science.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
- Has demonstrated excellence in the study of Political Science.
