Undergraduate Degree Requirements

The Political Science department offers both a Bachelors of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences degrees.The degree requirements are:

A minimum overall GPA of 2.0 and a major GPA 2.50 with a minimum grade "c" in each course.

A minimum of 24 hours upper-division (courses numbered 3000 or above) political science fromone of the areas listed;one of the areas must be comleted.

Minor Requirements 

Students may also pursue a minor in Political Science or Emergency Management.

The Requirements for the Political Science Minor are:

15 upper-division hours to include three fields of political science (Public Law, American Politics, Public Administration, Political Theory, Comparative Politics and International Relations). At least 3 of the hours must be taken in a field other than American Politics, Public Law, and Public Administration. GPA of 2.5 required.

For the Emergency Managemnt Minor the requirements are 15 hours as outlined below:

A. 6 hours from POLS 3813, 3733 or 3893;

B. 6 hours from POLS 2033, 3493, 3613, 3953 ,4363, 4413, 4453, 4593

OR

6 hours from POLS 3033, 3053, 3123, 3143, 3193, 3313, 4013, 4053, 4113, 4123, 4133, 4223;

C. 3 hours from ENVR 1113, FPST 1213, FPST 2153, GEOG 2343, PSYC 2313, SOC 4433

All grades must be "C" or better and a minor GPA of 2.50
