Eligibility

Students are eligible for admission to the FEMP Master's degree program if they have:

    • Maintained a minimum cumulative undergraduate grade point average of 3.0;
      • Anyone having a bachelor's degree with an overall GPA less than 3.0 may be considered for admission on a probationary basis.
    • Accumulated significant practical experience in a fire and/or emergency management career or earned an undergraduate degree in a fire and/or emergency management-related discipline;
    • For those students for whom English is a second language, received a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (computer exam) or 550 (paper exam) or a minimum IELTS score of 6.5.

Students are eligible for admission to the FEMP Ph.D. program if they have:

    • Undergraduate Degree: Earned an undergraduate degree in Fire Science, Fire Management, Emergency Management, or significant coursework related to these areas.
    • Master's Degree: Earned a Master's degree in Fire and Emergency Management Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Fire and Emergency Management Administration, Master of Emergency Management, or significant coursework and research related to these areas.  Degrees with a thesis option are preferred.
    • GRE Scores (within the last 5 years)
    • Cumulative GPA Minimum: 3.00
    • For those students for whom English is a second language, a minimum TOEFL score of 79 (computer exam) or 550 (paper exam) or a minimum IELTS score of  6.5 is required.
